I am on book 13 of Jack Reacher (interspersed with various others) and slowly working through the Harry Hole books my Jo Nesbo. Have also read Tim Weaver, some Mark Billingham, Paul Finch, M J Arlidge.

What I am looking for, is a sort of Jack Reacher style book, rather than from a police point of view, set in the UK.
I know the new Reacher is set in the UK and am getting to that soon.
Does anyone have an idea of decent equivalents set in the UK?

I quite like the Spider Shepherd series by Stephen Leather - Not all (but most) set in the UK but Shepherd is a UK "special" cop who is ex SAS.

The earlier Milton books (possibly on the first one iirc) by Mark Dawson are Reacher style and set in London.

Part of "The Hard Way" (Jack Reacher 10) is set in the UK, and (as you are aware) most of "Personal" is as well.

What disappoints me, though, is that Lee Child writes about the UK in the same artificial way that most Americans do... but he was born in Cumbria so should know better!

I read a lot of these a few years ago and really liked them.
Not Reacher like really but I like Lee Child and these are a similar read.
