Audio books - talk to me
Discussion
This is a bit of a broad request unfortunately as I am certain there will be questions which I am not sure I can answer.
I love films, could watch them all day and all night long however it occurred to me that I don't read anything other than work emails, the web and maybe the odd magazine, I think this is in part due to not having the time or patience to sit down and immerse myself for hours.
But what I do have is a 1 1/2 hour commute each day, so I'm thinking I could use this travel time in the car to listen to some audio books. I was recently pointed towards "ready player one" which I'm currently enjoying each morning and night, however I know in a week tops I will have finished this.
So, my big question is can any of you recommend any good audio books to listen to in the car to pass the time?

Hi, I subscribe to Audible...tend to find that a great narrator is in some ways more important than the book itself.I love films, could watch them all day and all night long however it occurred to me that I don't read anything other than work emails, the web and maybe the odd magazine, I think this is in part due to not having the time or patience to sit down and immerse myself for hours.

A few I've enjoyed recently for both story and narration :
The Woodcutter ( Reginald Hill )
The Black House ( Peter May )
Disgrace, Guilt, Mercy and Redemption ( Jussi Adler-Olsen )
The Blade Itself Trilogy ( Joe Abercrombie )
The Name of the Wind ( Patrick Rothfuss )
Oddly enough I use audiobooks when I'm trying to relax before sleep at night.
I'm currently on Master and Commander and i find I get through more and quicker than if I were actually reading as I fall asleep after about 5 minutes when reading at night.
Audible is very good although by no means a cheap alternative - the subscription fee is reasonable but only allows fo rone per month which isn;t enough really for me.

You may not know but some books on audible can be returned once finished and your credit returned. I have gone through three audible books this holiday whilst only having 2 credits.I'm currently on Master and Commander and i find I get through more and quicker than if I were actually reading as I fall asleep after about 5 minutes when reading at night.

I love audio books, great for a long journey on your own when motorways become a dull means to get from A to B. I am currently listening to Stephen King's The Stand, all 27 (ish) hours of it. If you like King then he narrates Bag of Bones and it was brilliant.
Audible and itunes are where i get mine from.
