Recommended Books on British or Foreign Carmakers
Discussion
Was wondering if anyone can recommended books on British or Foreign Carmakers?
The subject that I'm most specifically interested in when it comes to books about British / Foreign Carmakers both large (Ford, Renault, Vauxhall / Opel, BMC / BL) and small (TVR, Lotus, Morgan, etc) are the unmade prototypes or stillborn experimental cars like say the FWD Morris Minor, Rootes Swallow or the 1962 TVR P5 that are otherwise little known beyond the odd website or so.
Thanks in advance

Depends what you want out of the book.
Jem Marsh published Making My Marque about Marcos, very interesting for any Marcos enthusiasts.
I'm after something similar to "MG - the Untold Story: Postwar Concepts, Styling Exercises and Development Cars" by David Knowles that not only details the little-known history but also features images and sketches of stillborn prototypes or scale models that ended up not amounting to anything. You may not get much in the way of stillborn prototypes but for a good read and not just about the cars have a look at these two

Rivethead - whilst not specifically about a carmaker is a fascinating story about the innards and downfall of the Detroit car industry.
It's a bit of a faff to find but you're more than welcome to borrow my copy.
I have a copy and regarding concept cars it's probably not relevant! It's a bit of a faff to find but you're more than welcome to borrow my copy.
It's a terrific book I'd recommend to anyone though. I've recommended it to people who have no interest at all in cars and they have loved it.
PS, the author is Ben Hamper.
