I usually get my eBooks from Kindle (having the app on PCs, an Android phone and an iPad), but I wondered if books on the iBooks platform were better in any way, after seeing an example of one on an iPad mini.

I've seen a number of Kindle books with all the photos missing, making it a bit rubbish for some kinds of books (ones with photos mainly biggrin ) and the iBooks one had lots of in place photos.

Is this common or just a case of opportune sampling?

Are books, perhaps, sometimes cheaper on iBooks than Kindle (I bought a book today in hardback form as it was half the price of the Kindle version and had a number of colour plates in the printed version).

I have the kindle app on my iPad.

As a result I have everything on my kindle and more, to the extent that I have given the kindle to my son.

I also get mags and books with pictures and photos. I have a mixture of sources.

Yes, I don't have a Kindle as such (just an app), I was more interested in the relative quality/price of books on the two platforms.

I've had a poke around in iBooks today and the range seemed quite limited.

Are you saying you have magazines and books with pictures (in colour) through the Kindle app?

Sure do.

I buy Spectator through Amazon and that comes through into the Kindle app as you might expect. Other magazines I get through the newsstand app on the iPad but those are from other sources. I also get iBooks through the same app.

I do have Amazon books with pictures through The Kindle app with covers in full cover etc.

Hope that helps!
