Just finished reading these thanks to a heads up on this very forum. A hugely entertaining read, a thinking man's Final Countdown. Really covers every question you would ask about 21st century types dealing with the 1940s and visa versa.

A very clever take on an alternative WW2.

So I thought anyway biggrin and the first time I have enjoyed commuting on packed trains in a long while, buried in my newish underused Kindle.

He is now publishing short e-books starting with Stalin's Hammer, Rome. Set in the same timeline, 10 years after WW2. Not as good as the trilogy as it's rather slow and only really centres on two characters. I say that but I'm only halfway through.

If you like your time travel sci-fi, give them a go.

Thanks for the heads up. Loved the axis of time books.

You should also read his After America series as well.

I really enjoyed the first book, it was a refreshing bit of sci-fi, but I was a bit bored with the second book. Never got to read the third one.

It was a few years ago that I read it, but I still remember parts of it well. I was quite impressed with how the ships fused together with their contemporary counterparts, including the crews who were stuck inside walls and bulkheads, with limbs sticking out. Also the fact that some of the ships were found all around the Pacific region, including Antarctica and even fused into the top of a island mountain.

Liked the Prince Harry character too, maybe our Harry will be similar eh?

There is a new fourth book in this series (also available on Kindle).

Stalin's Hammer: Rome.

Am yet to start it, but it sounds good.

Birmo's other series Without Warning, After America and Avenging Angels is also worth a read.
