We always make our Christmas crackers at home, with small compact gifts we chose for each other. I pulled mine and in the wine, beer, and port daftness of Christmas dinner, I somehow lost my 'gift'.

Until tonight. Scrabbling for papers (to light the fire) under a cupboard in the dining room, I found this.

I love my kids. Apparently it's a signed copy too?

Ha! Indeed not, the Mrs won't disclose how much it was, but she insisted it's a LOT less than what they're up for on Amazon. It's coming from the US, and I've just had an e-mail to say it should be here early next week.

Good present!

I found that requesting my local library to find a copy for me was a much cheaper alternative to actually buying it wink

Interesting read though.

Thanks. Just watching that auction. Do you think it is worth that as it doesn't look like a signed one?

I guess it's only worth what someone will pay for it. This book is indeed rare though. smile

Which one did you look at, the black or white cover? The white cover one is in stock

mine was ninety-something and i haven't seen one go for less than that. iirc, there was a spelling mistake in the listing so might have been the reason i was the only bidder. I wouldn't have been prepared to pay what signed ones go for, i don't see the point personally. i had intended to read it then sell it but will probably hang on to it.

I have just realised that I never did circle back to this thread - and I hate it when that happens on PH, so....

I know no-one cares, but it's a point of principle. I just need to change my name to Cherie hehe
