So I've re read so many of my books now. I'm stuck in a rut.

I'm looking for recommendations for a new book to read, or series of books.

To give you an idea of the type of books I read.

World War Z is currently falling apart, easily my favourite book, Mira Grant (The Newsflash Trilogy) Kim harrison (Rachel Morgan books) Charlaine harris (Southern Vampire/True blood) Richelle Mead (Succubus and Thorn Queen series)
Madelline roux (Trapped/Stranded) Jesse Peterson (Living with the dead series)

Theres many more that I can't remember (have 2 full bookcases and a kindle with over 100 books stored on it) but I really want to find something new. Especially anything along the same lines as World War Z/Newsflash trilogy (Zombie apocalypse books)

So authors or stand out titles please ears

Dresden Files, by Jim Butcher. Urban fantasy, books get better and better through the series. Up to book 14 IIRC.

Entertaining and funny with all sorts of baddies (vampires, ghouls, demons, faeries, zombies, werewolves etc)

I'll have a look. See If I can find a preview chapter floating about to check out the writing style.
The name sounds familiar too.

Try something entirely different?

If you want the prospect of a series including the deep development of persistent characters and a rare quality of writing I can't help but suggest Patrick O'Brian's work, the Aubrey-Maturin novels set in the Napoleonic wars.

Strong writing, fine stories and with an astonishing sense of period detail. Recommended.
