Just recently read it and can only agree that it's a very well researched and written book. The early part of the book where he describes, in great detail, aspects of the first world war, I found particularly interesting. Mainly as I've never been a war history enthusiast. This book certainly covers it well, and is rightly scathing of the cock-ups by those in power in the military that resulted in sending thousands/millions to their deaths.

For anyone interested in the history of the conquest of Everest, this book is a must !
