What to do with read books
Discussion
I keep hardback books, I cannot think about throwing them away. I like the idea from 100 years ago of giving a book, even an old book to a friend who I think will enjoy reading it, perhaps with a note inside and dated. you could even make and print a book plate for them.
I heard of an idea of leaving a modern novel on a seat in a city centre, they don't last long!
Where I live there is a glass fronted box on a stick in the ground by the foot path. people bring their old books and take what they choose. Someone is a 'monitor' and has the job of removing books that have overstayed their welcome. Children enjoy the service very much, especially the donating of their old books for other children to take.
