Diy damp repair
Discussion
I was looking at spending up to 1200 on a naff caravan, with about 300 left over to tart it up, as a bit of a tester, to see if the mrs would be into it. We all loved our campervan, but it was a bit too small, and renault reliability really soured that, i spent more time repairing the mechanicals and engine electrics than we spent camping in it. Lesson learned, never french ever again.
Anyway whilst looking I was given for free an avondale 650-6, which I am hoping to fix under budget.
The 3 issues are, mega dog smell, it was used as a kennel. I have pressure washed all the upholstery with biobrisk, and chemical guys stripper scent. Got the ozone machine inside it just now, and going to chop out the carpet and replace with modern vinyl. Looking good so far.
2 all the 240v electrics work, but the 12v system is not, probably down to water ingress to the transformer/distribution unit. I have some victron and sterling power parts sitting spare from other projects so the 12v system will be getting a full overhaul, along with solar and a decent inverter, and change all the dater incandescent fittings for modern led stuff, probably with some cob led strip and aluminium channel.
3 there is a small stone hole in the front panel, right below the window which has been letting water in. There is bad damp internally around the front windows, the wood is soft, but it hasnt reached the floor. I am confident enough to repair the hole with gelgoat repair i have left over from my boat, and i am good with joinery so replacing the timber framing should be cheap and easy, the only bit I am unfamiliar with is replacing the interior wall panelling, where to buy it, what is best to use?
Any intricacies in fitting it?

Sad how a tiny stonechip going unnoticed can do so much damage
