Hi all

Dont think I've ever posted in this part of PH before but I'm hiring a motorhome (UK based company) for a trip to France, Italy and Switzerland.

From my caravanning days years agoI still have one of these with what I believe is referred to as a Euro plug.

Is that still compatible with French sites (which I think it will be)? And will it fit Italian and Swiss hook ups too?

Thanks.

It will work, but a lot of the French sites I've used had the 16A blue commando sockets like we use here

The adapter like in your picture is still sat in its bag!

I most recently had to use one of those adaptors in Austria! I think it was probably a virgin . . .

Thank you. Any knowledge on Swiss or Italian sites?

Most sites use the standard blue connector that you use in the UK. We've been to lots of sites and as I said, only just this year found one in Austria that used the Euro standard two pin socket.

I came across this one in Switzerland a few years back when we were staying at Lucerne I think...

The site had adaptors which we could borrow for a fee. I bought one in the end just in case fr future Swiss trips.

The 5/6 sites we stayed at in Italy last year were the normal plug, but you never know. We have various adaptors in our MH, I thought what a ridiculous idea when my wife bought them and until 2 weeks ago I was right, fortunately she did buy them as we needed one in Spain this year.

Currently I'm near Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland and we are using the standard hook up connector,no Euro fanciness required. Onto Italy tomorrow so will see what that requires. Thanks for the replies.

Over the last few weeks we’ve done sites in Germany, France, Switzerland and Luxembourg - I didn’t require the use of any special adaptor
