Tracker for Motorhome
Discussion
I have a ScorpionTrack Cat 6 tracker fitted to mine, it was on it when I bought it so just renewed the subscription in my name.
Not had to use it in anger yet so no idea how effective it is, I can however login and see where it is at any given time.
Having said that, I have just logged in and my motorhome is no longer on my account so I can't see it, they are going to look into it and get back to me - apparently they are still tracking it, I just can't see it (which I should be able to).
When I first signed up I could pull up a map and see where the motorhome was, but no more.
Can't recommend it at the moment but will see what they say when they call me back.
Fortunately my current insurance doesn't need a tracker so unlikely to renew when the subscription runs out.

I have been looking around for my van and am looking to put a tracker in within the next month or two. I'm currently looking at the Moving Intelligence Sentinel which is an alarm and tracker. Spent a lot of time building mine and I don't want to be building another one in a hurry so going for something a little more than the factory fitted alarm in the van which only works on doors with no motion sensors. They also do tracker only solutions.
The differences as far as I can tell...
S7 - Basic Thatcham approved tracker.
S5 - Tracker with ADR, driver has a card or similar kept separate to keys. If the vehicle is moved without the card in the vehicle, tracker company will call to check if vehicle is being moved with consent.
S5 plus - As above, but police have authority to remotely stop vehicle in conjunction with the tracking company.
The old category 5,6 and 7 no longer exist and have been transferred to the new categories above. This seemingly happened some time around 2019.

Check out the Outsnart the Thief lock down, based on the Gemini system like the Sentinel and has the remote immobilisation feature but for less money, it's what rhe Sentinel is a copy of.The differences as far as I can tell...

I don't believe the Outsmart the Thief tracker is Thatcham approved - only their alarm system. Some insurance companies will not accept it and others will allow it but give a reduced discount.Gassing Station | Tents, Caravans & Motorhomes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
