Very hard standing: Awning advice required

Milkyway Sr (93) is a Camping & Caravan Veteran.
He will be going away to his usual site for the season... but this year, has decided to go on a hard pitch to avoid moving every three weeks.
The hard standing is an old WW2 concrete runway... so, VERY HARD.
He will have to peg down his awning ( ten legs), so any advice about the best drill & pegs / anchors will be much appreciated, & I can then pass on any help.
I have been searching online for various solutions... but, to no avail
There is no electricity available, but he does have a 500W inverter... but no generator.
( He did have a Cordless drill in mind... but I’ve read & been advised that it would be very hard work...drilling ten holes, & I can’t see how it could be done without at least one recharge or a second battery).
NB:
His current idea.. 80mm concrete nails with homemade adaptors for the bands.
( If all else fails, he will go back onto a soft pitch... as it will probably be his last season anyway)

They knew how to mix and lay concrete in the last war for runways and hard standings !
But anyway I have stayed on old airfields before and the owners had drilled and screwed 75mmx50mm treated timbers at appropriate points with galvanised hooks inset into the wood.
I suggest this may be the best solution as this way you determine the anchor locations for your relatives needs inexpensive and much easier to drill and fix the timbers than attempt to anchor direction into the concrete with pins , all easily achieved with a decent SDS drill and plugs and a couple of fully charged batteries…….

We have done a trial run at home with the nails, not too successfully... yet.Looked at some hammer in / screw out pegs from “Peggy Sue’
£18 for 4.
( May have made viable sense if he was a bit younger).
I think that common sense might prevail... & he will return to his spot on a soft pitch.
But he’s a stubborn old bugger.

People are still amazed that he’s still going He can’t wait for April 1st...he’s in fettling mode now. He can then go & rejoin his clan.

He’s been going to this site for many years... & they allow you to drill into the concrete.
Obviously, they must be pulled or below surface level when he leaves.
( But rock pegs are advised for the soft pitches)
He’s doesn’t like pole weights... he has seen awnings still lifted in rough winds.
He has splashed out on a new Inverter generator... so he will have 4hrs to get himself pegged down.
If all else fails... he’s back on the ‘softer’ stuff & will have to move around every twenty one days. :
( Like he has been doing for the last umpteen years)

A bit late to this but isnt the timber idea easier? Screw 4 lengths of timber into the concrete at the edges of the awning, probably only need 2 screws for the side and maybe 3 for the width. Then the edge of the awning can be attached to the timber. Maybe if required a tie down for the corners.

... His brain has been working overtime.His current plan, is to get a wooden pole & attach rings on it to secure the bands.
His thinking is that a round pole would be stronger & would only need securing at each end. He had 6” of tolerance on the soft stuff, so he may get away with just rock pegs on that side.
( It’s only a 2m x 2m awning anyway).
