Solar Power Advice
Discussion
Speak to a solar specialist supplier.
Depending on how much or how permenant he wants it, depends on what he needs. Most Motorhomes are running 100w plus panels, but he may only need 50w.
Your charger and controller is important, again, interaction with cab battery and smart alternator if he has one, will all have an impact on the whole system.
You really are best to speak to a specialist firm who suppliers the kit.

I don't know where you are in the country, but there's a guy in the south east who does this as his bread and butter - have a search for Planar Pete on google, and you'll get his facebook page.
I've no affiliation with him, but I see his work popping up on facebook all the time, and seems very good at what he does.

We had a flexible panel on our camper. It stopped working after 18 months. Don't know why, but I suspect electronics don't like being bent?
The rigid panels aren't heavy and seem longer lasting. I did it all myself with a kit off the web. Beware though, the compressor fridges rip through a full battery in no time - 100W panel only extends my off-grid time by a day or so.

Tends to be threads on here about it if you have time to search: https://forums.ybw.com/index.php?forums/practical-...

I think the flexible panels overheat but the rigid ones have an air gap behind so don’t. The rigid panels aren't heavy and seem longer lasting. I did it all myself with a kit off the web. We have a 95 litre compressor fridge with a 360w panel and it’s been off grid since February with no issue so it can be done but it’s well worth doing some usage calculations before to get an idea of what you need.
