Long story short for the last few years I have stored a new old caravan in an old barn for a friend. It's a late 2000s Compass Corona. It's like new with the plastic still on the seats. It's had good ventilation and a frost heater. I asked the friend about moving it it when things start moving again and he said he didn't want it and it was mine if I wanted it in lieu of storage. Now my last experience of caravanning was nearly 50 years ago and that was a disaster (we all got chickenpox). In these lockdown days I could start gathering essentials and make an appointment with a local agent to come and give it a thorough service before taking it out. Plan is to use it on a hill on the farm this year just to try it out and maybe go further afield in the future.

You'll need:
- some form of water containers, both for drinking water and for waste water going out (latter possibly not important on own land)
- a battery
- maybe some form of awning
- some form of levelling chock

As you mentioned, someone to service it. If it has been sat for some time the chassis will probably need some inspection.

They'll tell you what it needs to be safe.

Other than that, fire and co alarms and beer surely?

No problem with towing - choice of Ford Focus 2.0 Tdci or Saab 9-3. New tyres on, chassis fine and next weekend big sleep out! Yes beers/vino but also bacon, eggs etc and a new gas drum. Mobile service guy booked for Wednesday quoting £100-£150 plus parts for general service and greasing up. Looking forward to it!
