We are about to take the family away on our first holiday in our VW T5 camper. We also have a drive away awning. The van has a hook up point, but how do you get power to the awning? Is it easier to have a supply for the van and a separate one for the awning? Or is there a simpler solution that I haven't thought about?

You can purchase power leads with RCD built in which could be used to provide power to your awning and use one of the plug points to provide power to your van.

I've also seen foreign MHs when abroad who have a splitter plug running from the MH, so one lead goes into the awning area.

Have bought a splitter so there can be one cable for the van and one for the awning. As we want to have an electric cool box in the awning when we are out and about.
