Caravan Fridge

The Thetford Fridge in our caravan appears to have given up, and of course we are going away on Monday! Which gives the challenge of getting someone out to look at it and fix it or replace it in the next few days!

Had a quick look online and it appears Thetford fridges start at around £650 however on Ebay you can get a Carvin (whpever they are) 3 way fridge for around £260 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caravan-Motorhome-Leisu...

So is the Thetford really worth the extra?

When our fridge stopped working there were numerous people on forums suggesting turning the fridge upside-down for up to 20 minutes. Decided to give it a go, and it worked !

I have seen that, how easy is it to take it out in order to turn it upside down?

What is happening? My motorhome fridge (dometic) auto-ignite would not work and just cleaning up the connections through the venetilation hatch worked

Exactly what is wrong with it?

Not working at all? Not working on 240, not working on 12v, not working on gas?

Checked all the fuses? Checked the gas supply? Vents all clear? Is it level (ish)?

It wasn't level so I leveled it yesterday. Its not cooling on electric. I tried it on gas yesterday and it lt so I left it to see what happened. Returned to caravan a couple of hours later and the caravan stank of gas, and the fridge was hotter inside than the outside!
