Hello,

Recommendations needed campsites in or a short drive (<1hr) from South West London.

We went here last year and had a good fun weekend - https://www.wowo.co.uk/
Loads of fun stuff for kids to do. About an hour from London I’d say...

We are just back from a weekend at Park Farm campsite near Robertsbridge, East Sussex. A bit more than an hour’s drive but highly recommended.

We went to Picketts Lock in Edmonton a few times when the kids were smaller. Easy to get into London by train or tube or bus and there's some good facilities on site inc par 3 golf course, cinema, restaurants etc, though there's little point in going to London to just stay on site is there? Surely the point is to visit London?

Last year, we went to Blacklands Farm:

A wee bit closer to London... it was really good.

For both that and the one above, we found plenty to do for a group of 14 adults and 13 kids, aged between 2 and 8 years old.

Wellington Country Park just off the A33 south of Reading is excellent.

Not sure if this is quite in the area you're looking for, it's near Marlow / Henley, but we had a great stay on there during the Easter holiday. Nice play area for the kids where they'd all gather in the evening for football, felt really safe, beautiful spot, excellent facilities, and easy access for London (Maidenhead station) + Legoland.

Stayed there a few years ago - lovely spot for walks along the Thames.

Chantry Wood campsite is fabulous.

Lots of woods and trails to explore, regularly see camp fires and BBQ's on the go. Great views and a mile or so from Guildford town centre. Quite basic though.

Holmbury St Mary YHA.

I don't know the campsite but the woods around Holmbury St Mary are utterly fabulous.

Both campsites are easy to get to from S.W. London.

It's a while since we've been, 8yrs maybe, but a lovely site we all enjoyed. I think it's on the flight path but that didnt seem to bother us as I remember.
