We have a 1996 lunar delta, yes its old but its our and the kids love it!

We had a full major service - damp check, new tyres, new brakes, new gas lines etc and a full bill of health given.

Last used October last year, then drained the water tanks, left the top vent open and put under a breathable cover.

Uncovered it this weekend, battery still fully charged, ran a tank of water through and all good.
Tyres still the correct pressure and the hand brake released and the van moved by hand easily.

Just booked a week away for august but will hopefully get a weekend away in before.

Anything else to do?

Test fridge atleast on gas, check water heater if used. Check toilet flush,

Toilet pump on my 2010 van failed over the winter sometime! Only found out the night before going overseas. Fortunately got one on route.

Get it used
August?
No local sites?
Mines an hour away. Perminant season pitch now.
Job done.

As above, attach to car, get away somewhere nice.

Were off to the Gower Peninsula on Saturday for a week, can't wait. Already had a week away at Easter (Berkshire for Legoland and London trips). Got two weeks in August booked, Norfolk coast then down to my Mum's in Essex to celebrate her 80th with her. Probably have the August bank holiday week somewhere as well, need to plan that one, and finally have a few nights away during the Autumn half term before putting the caravan to bed for Winter.

That said the wife and I had a weekend in Broadway in it for our wedding anniversary at the end of November last year so even Winter trips are possible.

Thanks for the reassurance - only started Caravanning last year so its all a bit new.

Never used the fridge on gas, we always plug in - and we've removed the water heater.

Will try the loo - think i need to order some more chemicals for it.

Would love to get away more, but time is not on my side

Just done a pre trip check on my motorhome before a trip to Cambridge this weekend, all ok except there’s no 12 volt supply to the fridge, gas and leccy are fine so not the end of the world, I’ll see if I can sort it before we go.
Haven’t used it since last September so I’m itching to get away.

my toilet pump is the usual item to have a problem, seized up, even though i ran clean water through it when i laid the caravan up.
I have to remove it and turn the pump impeller and it then works.

I take it you were running the engine when checking 12v operation on the fridge.

Yeah, as soon as I start it up the red fridge light comes on usually, no red light at the moment, hope to sort it today but looking grim as I’m off to Norfolk today for a day out at lotus tomorrow.
I’ll probably have to sort it while we are away in it.

Probably just a fuse somewhere if it was working before.
