Can anyone recommend a gas burner ring for cooking outside?

Most of the ones I've found have either no review,s or poor reviews. Ive got a Cadac Safari but decided I just want a gas ring with a good flame to cook on outdoors with my pans.

Something like this..

Anything like that without some sort of wind shield around it will be pretty poor as at best the slightest little gust will be blowing the flame off the underside of the pan or if it's a bit windy will blow it out altogether.

Does it need to be gas? Have you looked at Coleman dual fuel stoves that will run on petrol

The good old Camping Gaz twin burner plus grill take some beating.

They have been around forever and for good reason, they are brilliant.

Depends on what you are cooking, and for how many.

I love the jetboil range of stoves, but the calor gas twin and grill is unbeatable for a family.

I've got a cobb, a cadac, and a jetboil. All have their own circumstances where they are perfect. The cobbs great for beach BBQ's and cooking on campsites when you can't have a fire as after you've finished cooking it turns in to a mini fire pit. The cadac is great for convenience cooking next to the tent or in the porch as it's very poor in anything approaching windy conditions. And the jetboil is perfect for 1 person when you're wild camping.

Not from the camping community but from the fishing set. I was told about the RidgeMonkey stoves from a fishing mate, and they are bloody fantastic. They pack down very compactly and the heat they produce is awesome. You can use/buy one and then link on 1 more to make a double burner.
