In the World of classic camper vans the driver & passenger seats fold down flat(ish) forming the bed. This set up whilst convenient seems to offer little in the way of even a half way comfortable so.ution for a nights sleep. Can anybody with experience offer a steer towards a ‘topper’ that folds/rolls small but overcomes the seats to bed compromise.
I am not in the market for a modern motorhome wink

How about either a memory foam topper (although that won't really store well) or a self-inflating sleeping mattress like those from Thermarest or Outwell:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B018APB3RK

The thicker they are the better to sleep on but bulkier to store & costs more.

Looks very good, small enough to roll up yet said to be comfy. More investigations, £159 isn’t cheap but when it comes to night time comfort has to be worth it.

Also heard good stuff. On my list for caravan accessory purchases for next year. The bed is okay but a bit firm for my back. Also like that that you can get sheets that zip around them so making up the bed at night should be just, make up the bed, roll out the Duvalay, duvet and pillows, go to bed.

We use a 5cm thick memory foam topper in our MH. I just go it off some random internet/Ebay site. Around 50 quid from memory.

It makes a world of difference. smile

Agree with this post fully. It made all the difference on the fixed bed in our Bailey caravan and for under £50, was money very well spent. We now have a very cosy bed in our van.

I fail to see the logic in spending lots more money on a "named" product.

+1. This named stuff is rife in the caravan and motorhome world, and most of the time there iis no extra benefit for the extra £

Was for me. I have a lower back problem. Got a cheap 50mm topper but it was useless. Replaced it with a Duvalay which was great.
