Does anyone own both?
I currently have a caravan and i don’t really want to get rid of it due to the limitations of a motorhome. I would however like a motorhome for short weekends away where it is too much hassle to get the caravan, hitch up etc. Also figure I could use it do Le Mans next year in a bit more comfort and the other half could use it for canicross and agility events. Looking at something around the 10k mark.

So does anyone here have both and do you make use of both (obviously not at the same time).
Caravan is in storage, but I have space on the drive for a MH even though there are already 3 cars on the drive.
One downside I can see is insurance. I already have 2 lots of NCD (1 full and 1 3yrs), but I guess I would yet again have to have a policy starting on 0 NCD.

The zero NCB shouldn't be a problem as many insurance companies will mirror your existing NCB. We use Caravan Guard for our motorhome and they did this for us.

I've been having this exact dilemma recently. Thinking about investing in/converting a VW T5 4motion for weekends away and also using it to tow our caravan. I'd also replace my aged Range Rover as a daily vehicle, about 10000 miles a year, which should represent a substantial fuel saving!

Went and done it. Part ex’d the caravan for a motorhome.
Picking it up in 2 weeks. Around 25ft long, but bigger than the shipping length if my carvan. Hopefully should be a good move.

The motorhome gives you the flexibility to use Aires, Stellplätze etc. so no Need to book a camping site.
Ideally a motorhome and tow a Trailer with a small car on it.
