I'm absolutely freezing I've lit the trangia and I'm getting all toasty. Is it safe with the tent door open?

Be very careful with it, a lad at school did that, knocked the stove, and the entire tent burned down in a few seconds.

The chocking fumes from the flip flop kept me awake.

Has anybody invented a tent warmer that won't kill you yet because if they have shut up and take my money.

A friend of mine takes an electric blanket, she still seems to think it's camping too biggrin

Sleeping bag liners make a hell of a difference, silk pack up smaller but cotton ones are way cheaper.

Please at least rebuild the trangia and sit the meths burner inside it. Now!

It's his fault I was cold he was piss wet through panting all night everything was wet, plus he ate half my steak so stank the place out. Then wanted out so I had to leave the door open in case he wanted back in. You think he was daft enough to be in there while I was pissing about with that smile

I remember as a kid I was backpacking and had to pitch on the side of Coniston in deep snow. My mate had got all his gear, inc sleeping bag, wet. So to try and dry him out we had the trangia running until the meths ran out (We had the stove assembled your setup looks well dodgy) As soon as the burner extinguished it went instantly cold in the tent. Unfortunately it also had the effect of melting the snow below the tent and so I had to get out and re-pitch part way through the night.

That's exactly what happened here. As soon as it went out -40.

I don't have cooking gear with it stands etc. It's used for a Kelly style kettle (best thing I ever bought seriously get one it's an Mkettel)

What I could have done is boil the water and have a radiator fk sake frown

Coleman catalytic heater. Seriously - it works brilliantly.

That said, I'd never have anything combustible alight in my tent whilst I was sleeping. Get the tent warm before you sleep, then rely on a decent bag and mattress.
