Tent repair help

One of the bungee cords that a tent peg goes through on my tent has snapped. It was a loop shaped one. Would a length of bungee cord tied at the ends work or is there a better solution?

Bungee cord would sort of work as a temp job.

A simple reef knot to attach a new length of shock cord and a bowline to form a loop at the end would work I would imagine. I'm guessing from the fact that it's a corded pegging point that it's just something to tension the fly, so it's not going to take a huge amount of stress anyway.
