purchasing a caravan second hand

Looking to purchase a caravan second hand and was wondering if there are any checks / precautions I can take in order to know its not stolen ?

Also depends where you are buying it from etc. As I suspect many older caravans will no longer be registered. So if it is advertised privately check seller history if you can, what else they selling/sold. Google the phone number. Does it sound to good to be true, can you see the van at their private address etc
