Tv channels why does England get more than Wales?
Discussion
I notice that when we go motorhoming in England we can pick up around 140 channels, when in Wales there are only around 39 channels including radio . In fact on digital in England theres a better selection of channels on freeview digital than I get on my freeview satelite system at home. I am in Abetgavenny today and the only channels we can get here are bbc1, 2 and 3.itv channel 4 and the cbbc channels oh and the parliment channel. We are missing out here no top gear repeats and no storage wars etc etc. Why i this ? s

Try coming to Bath, it's exactly the same. The reason is that a lot of TV in Wales is sent by repeater stations, rather than main transmitters, due to the hills. By all accounts, it's simply not financially viable to install the commercial multiplexes in the repeater stations because they serve small numbers of people. We get the main (BBC/ITV/C4) Multiplex because there's a public service obligation on that one.
