Anybody going this week?

If so I'll be floating around the Carado / Hymer stand in a fetchingly creased Travelworld Motorhomes shirt!

Come say hi if you're passing.

Id love to go but staying away as i would spend way too much money on camping accessories that I could actually camp without!
The wife mentioned it but i told her if we went then i would be convincing her to sell the camper and buy a trailer tent we could tow behind a porsche!

Will check it out next year.

Won't be at the NEC this year, but bought from you at the Dusseldorf show this year or from one of your guys (Nick)

Hope that you have a good show, and see you when I come to collect my new van early 2015

Nick was fine, only met him on the last day when it was make your mind up time for me, it was a decision between Dethleff,Burstner or Hymer as I think that the build quality of Carthago is not as good as when I had them, also we went to Carthago Factory in Alsdorf earlier in the year to have a look around again, but felt the bathrooms had not been so good as previous, then we had to look at other options, we then went to Palmowsky in Bielefeld to have a look around after Hymer in Waldersee.

Had a down size this time as the last 3 we have had, have been Carthagos, 1 "M" Liner then 2 Chic E-Line 5 Tons on Iveco Chassis, before that had a Clou-Liner years ago when they first cam out.

Gone right down size this time as it's just myself and wife so have gone for a Exsis T-564 with a few extras,& went for the 3ltr engine option.

Nick said delivery should be Feb/March then there is some bits to be fitted by yourselves or whoever you use.

Haven't been in anything so compact before, but should be fine for the 2 of us.

Hope you have a good show.

We went. Very very nearly bought a Rimor.

Quite basic inside (quite like that) but huge garage, bigger than anything else we saw.

And very good value.

Still thinking but am wondering if there will still be offers in March at the show.

Biggest selection and cheapest place to buy any motorhome is at the Dusseldorf Show, there is always a really good show price, plus the discounts that you negotiate plus there is the benefit of buying in Euros because of the exchange rate benefit.

I have never bought a motorhome in the U.K. but always at the show which is normally around the 27th August till the 7th September.

The biggest show most people will ever see, each Hall is about the size of Earls Court and there are 17 of them, which sell everything from Tents,Caravans to Motorhomes, well worth a visit.

Yes you can buy whatever spec you wish for and with the reasons as I have said above.

This year was the 1st year that I have ever bought from an English dealer/company, Travelworld and I got the same deal this year that I had been offered by the German dealers, but it's the very 1st year.

It is all very new with uk dealers being there, as in most of the years that I have been it has always been German dealers that I have bought from, and never a problem.

Just type into Google Palmowski and it will come up discount, they will do everything for you and they speak English, nearest airport is Paderborn 1/2 hr away.

Happy hunting

Had a great day at the show on Friday and met the lovely Julia Bradbury. I was very taken with a couple of the trailer tent set ups. Pound of pound they are the bargain of the camping world! Unfortunately my Mini Cooper S with it's centrally mounted twin exhaust is not exactly ideal as a tow vehicle!!

I also got tempted by the show, and have bought my first caravan. That being a Glossups dealer special based on a Vision 580/5, collecting end of March. Really looking forward to getting it.

Kneetrembler that's quite a downsize, super vans tho, say hello when you come to pick it up, I'm Jody one of the Salesman.

I remember hearing about it when Nick did the deal, a couple of lads were toiling out there all week with mixed results and I think Nick just turned up that day and did a deal, the troops weren't best pleased!

UK dealers have been doing that show for years, Brownhills did it for a long time and we've done it since taking on Niesmann 6 or 7 years ago, it's normally very tough for UK dealers but we did about 15 or so this year which is epic.

Question- How do people who buy abroad get on for warranty work in the conversion side?

I don't know of many dealers who would fix vans bought abroad under warranty so do you have to take it overseas if it breaks?

Obviously with the manufacturers guarantee for the base vehicle is good anywhere in the EU, I've never had a problem getting things done, but with what I've bought in the past there haven't been any big problems, and for small things have had them done when in Germany on my travels.

I can tell you exactly how he got to do the deal, I had just made my mind up what to buy after being at the show for 4 days and it was in the final afternoon that I had decided to buy a Hymer, so I already had a German contact in fact for all of the makes that I was interested in, one of them was on the Hymer stand or a section of it.

Anyway I was speaking to him about what I wanted when he said look I can't deal on that particular section, so he said that he would go and get another dealer who was a Brit, I had just said to him I don't do deals with any Brits as the discounts are never good enough.
He then said to me if you can't do a deal with him then come back to me after the show and we can sort one out, also the sales guy from Palmowsky Bielefeld was at the show as well.

I have lived overseas for the past 25yrs so always registered them in Europe anyway so no problem, but now I have been living back in the UK for the last 4 yrs and it clinched the deal that you could have it delivered and registered here for me.
The Hymer that I have ordered is L/H drive as I won't be using it in the U.K. very much and I'm used to driving L/H drive anyway,so better for me.

I think that Nick had just turned up that afternoon or not long before, so your guys must have been pretty pissed.

See you when I'm up there Feb/March

Hope that the NEC Show has been good for you.

Nec was pretty good all round, not spectacular but steady so we'll take that.

See you next year.
