It's on the 6kg calorlite range, just thought it worth posting!

Thanks for that. Seems the one I bought last week, and is still in the shed as I haven't got round to putting it in the caravan, is part of the recall.

I'm away for 4 weeks in 2 weeks time, would it be very bad to wait until I had used it then as I'm getting a free full one?

"What happens if the returned cylinder is half full/nearly empty? Do I receive a new full cylinder?"

Yes – a full replacement 6kg CalorLite® will be issued entirely free of charge if the customer is returning a CalorLite® cylinder as part of the recall.

Thanks for this, I passed it on to the folks who have one of the dodgy cylinders.

They called the local calor branch who told them they'd need to pay for the new cylinder if theirs was "nearly empty", which is the complete opposite of what the recall says.

So they phoned calor direct who re-assured them any new cylinder is free and even put my folks on hold whilst they called the local dealer and "clarified" the situation.

I suspect the local branch are pocketing the charges, so beware!

Dad is going to the local branch on Monday, recall notice in hand.

I'd read somewhere else that somebody was charged because their cylinder was empty, cheeky gits.
