Lunar Astara Caravan
Discussion
Hi there, question from a first time caravan purchaser!
My Fiancee and I are off to France next year on honeymoon to a campsite she used to go to with family when she was younger, we both wanted a caravan so have decided to buy one and take it down, we've booked the site and paid the deposit so all we need is a caravan. we've been offered a Lunar Astara 2 berth by her aunt and uncle which they've had from new and taken care of very well. I don't think its very old and they're wanting £2500 so I'm off to look at it this weekend.
anything in particular I should be looking out for with this model? and does anyone know if they're any good? I understand they're quite rare?
currently I'm happy to drag it around with the Transit I use for work but this gives me an ideal excuse to buy the Nissan Patrol I've been lusting after for a couple of years!!!
many thanks
Paul

Hi - can't offer you any advice on the caravan (aside from obvious stuff about looking for damp/leaks (you can get gadgets for this) and the state of the tyres) but I think you may run into trouble getting onto a lot of sites if you're towing with a Transit; however that's just "what I have heard", and I'm sure that someone with more up-to-date experience than me will be able to confirm.Haha! Yes, I anticipated this. I must reiterate, I don't do Tarmac, roofing, block paving or tree surgery...
I will not be touring it with the transit as I'm aware of how I could be perceived, I'll tow it to where I plan on storing it at a farm where i know the owner well.
As I said! Excuse to buy that Patrol I wanted!
