Just back from a lovely week at Merley Court near Wimborne, however it got me thinking.

By the showers was the obligatory bucket of water and mop which most people seemed to ignore.

So some questions on your mopping habits!

And what is the reason for the mop in the first place?

First time camping this year...I thought the cleaner had left it behind. Too many years in hotels I guess. redcard

I use it 100% of the time, Unfortunately sometimes twice as the last muccky pup hasnt!frown

It takes a few seconds to push the crud off the bottom of my flip flops into the shower and hit the button to wash it away.

In France many of the showers had squidgee blade jobbies which were really good.

Come on peeps: please use it...that way when YOU go to the shower it will be nice and cleansmile

One of the C&CC club sites we stayed on last year had mops and squidgee blades. Squigdee blades make much more sense to me as they leave the cubicle clean and dry!

All the caravan club sites now have the blades instead of mops.

Think the new Chairman recommended the change due to potential health issues with the mop retaining germs etc..

Easier IMO.

I have never seen this mop. Is it shared between all campsites, or are there multiple ones?

I normally hose the cubicle down with the shower before I take my shoes off.

The mop looks pretty manky most of the time!

Seeing how skanky some of those showers can be, likely the mop is just as bad.

I've seen turds on the floor of showers in CC sites, nice

Never seen any that bad, in fact generally on the sites I have been on the showers have been quite clean. Cant say the same about the toilets, where I really cannot understand why people cannot flush a toilet.
