We have a 57 Transit based MH and the seats are designed for midgets, so after experimenting with various lumbar supports I've decided we need to change them.

Budget is an issue as we only do huge journeys a couple of times a year but comfort is the main driver. So, what's good and what's not?

I'd also like the driver's side to swivel so suggestions for that would be handy.

Anyone? (NHW??) I know there are a few people around with Transit based MHs so even knowing what seats you have would help.

We had exactly the same problem with a Transit-based Chausson.
We couldn't find any way to fix it without spending silly money.

So we spent the silly money on a Peugeot-based van. It's superb, SO much more comfortable and cheaper to run too.

Apart from on the odd old van I've never had anyone swap seats in their van, we're talking cab seats yeah?
Some vans are supplied from new with different seats from the base vehicles originals, these tend to be Isri or Aguti so that would be the best place to start I think, big money though.

biggrin Changing it isn't really an option, not least because I can't be arsed with the hassle. I'm thinking about a 25l bag seat (basically to flatten the seat back so I get some support below my shoulder blades) and some seat covers because otherwise it suits us fine.

Aah, never heard of such a thing, I'd consider a beaded seat cover,10 million taxi drivers can't be wrong!

Interesting thought, I hadn't considered whether their car seats might fit.

NHW, I think our posts crossed, I meant I wouldn't swap the van rather than the seats. Aguti are on holiday atm but it looks like £1k minimum for a pair which is a bit steep, particularly as SWMBO isn't that unhappy with her side.

Aye they're not cheap at all. I've seen car seats fitted in older vans too so no reason why it can't be done. Remember the airbag sensors though as you could end up with airbag lights on maybe?
