Well, the guy Im picking my newer caravan up off, is in hospital. So two weeks later, I still havent got it yet, and yet I'm away tomorrow night!

So, it seems the parents have stepped in!! Given me their campervan until further notice. This should be fun, anyone have anything they recommend doing, or not doing?

I just had to walk outside to check, oops. Its a Pioneer Renior. Nothing amazing, dad uses it for when he goes to the racing, saves him taking the caravan. But its a nice thing to drive, Peugeot Boxer 2.2 at the front!

Is it the 3500 kg GVW version because there seem to be a few with a higher GVW putting them into LGV C1 category ?

Indeed it is the 3500gvw version! The only reason being it means my younger sister (who is 24) can drive it when she comes back from Aus. We wouldn't have to put her through her test to drive it

Check with them what the speed limits are for their van.

My motorhome was registered from new as Private Light Goods, which means that the limits are:
NSL 50, Dual Carriageway 60, Motorway 70.

If it was registered as a motorhome then it would have been 60, 70 & 70.
But as it is old and sporting a 1.9 TD engine it struggles to hit 70 anyway.

My daughter and her husband have just returned from a 2 week trip in my van, they had a great time.
I'm now waiting for a phone call starting with the words - "Dad, can we……. ?" biggrin

Theirs is the 2.2 136hdi. I sat at 60 anyway, fuel saving, and it was fine. Even up the hills in brighton in 5th at 30mph, no effort!

Great fun, but, I won't be changing out of my caravan anytime soon! Maybe when i'm in my 50's. I can't see motorhoming for me just yet!

I was impressed with the economy to be fair. I got 31mpg on the trip, quite happy with that!!
