GasIt refillable
Discussion
After having a big of a nightmare last year running out of gas in remote France, and trying, unsuccessfully, to exchange our Calor or find a suitable adapter for a French total bottle, I decided to look at refillable system that we can easily refill when we refuel.
I opted for the GasIt system, which is exactly the same as GasLow but slightly cheaper, from a local dealer. Whole kit cost me £200 for a 6kg refillable bottle with guage, LPG refill adapter (like you get on LPG vehicles), regulator and French adapter to refill in Europe at LPG stations.
Filled up the bottle at my local LPG station at 65p a litre, so around £7-£8 to fill up, compared to £20 or so for a replacement 6kg Calor bottle, so £12+ saving each time. May take a little while to make money back but I think the practicality is the main bonus, meaning as long as we plan we should never run out at an awkward time.
Worth a look for anyone with gas?
