Generator - anyone have one or use one?

Hi

Do ay of you MH owners out there have a separate generator fitted to your van? Do you get use out of it?

I'm guessing its good if you do a great deal of 'wild' camping or camping where there are no hook ups?

If you do have one how is it fixed/built in, to your van

Have a genny fitted to mine. Slung properly under the chassis at the rear with wired in remote start in the kitchen.

Not used it properly "in anger" in a wild camping scenario but very pleased it's there. I use it every week or fortnight just to keep the battery topped up if I haven't gone anywhere. About 5-10mins is sufficient to get a decent charge into the leisure battery.

Used it today to power my drill when I was popping the private plates on the van!

But guess it'll come into its own when we're wild camping up in Scotland this summer and as such have no reason to remove it although originally considered it due to weight saving grounds but have decided I'll update if I need to (trip to weighbridge - not surrey - this week!)

Whats the smallest generator you can get?

Have an idea forming...
