For our camping trip to Dorchester which is apparently (says the Mrs) in the New Forest (another story, not for here...) I have borrowed a chum's trailer.

What, in the Hive Mind's experience, is the best way of securing it once unloaded and unhitched?

We use a lock on the tow hitch, something like these http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk/Categories/tow-bar-hi...

Wheelclamp, chain & padlock (if there's something nearby to chain it to) or another vote for the hitchlock.

My old hitchlock died - jammed whilst locked in place(!) - so replaced with one of these : Hitchlock - only in yellow. It's handy in that it can fit over the hitch when coupled up so very handy at motorway services to make sure the caravan/trailer is still there when you get back from your McWhopperFlurryDelux.

Remember to take it off again befopre driving though!! biggrin

Collected trailer this evening and it has a locking hitch on it, so will take a couple of D-locks for off-car security.

Thanks all for your input!
