Wifi, proximity to beach. And pub
Thanks for your help everyone
Gwithian Farm; great facilities, the pub is at the entrance, beach a ten minute walk. Gwithian is West Cornwall near Hayle. Thanks for your help everyone
If you don't mind spending a few quid, Tristram campsite here in Polzeath is right on the beach with pubs nearby. Oh and there's a good curry restaurant next to it! Pretty sure it has wifi but if not, you get a good 3G signal on Orange/EE.

Trevedra Farm Sennen - great if you like surfing and walking to the fantastic beach
This sprang to mind but there's no nearby pub and the trek to the beach (Gwenvor) is a mission for many.Treen farm is worth a look too - near the village pub, there's a stunning (although slightly tricky access) beach nearby and the views are stunning.
http://treenfarmcampsite.co.uk - it's nearish Penzance.
Thanks for that. A friend had mentioned Treen but it doesn't look like they take bookings.
No way I'm doing 380 miles (each way) without a guaranteed pitch!
I'll give them a call later and check if that is the case.
In the mean time I've done an online booking with Gwithian Farm, will see if they have any space.

Tristram only have one week with a plot big enough for our van.
Any experience of their other site, Southwinds?
I'm tempted to do a week at each site but as the wife points out what if the children make friends.
Oops, I forgot to check this thread!Any experience of their other site, Southwinds?

Southwinds is almost next to our house; big site with good facilities and great views. It's a bit of a walk to the beach but it's a stunning route.
I'd try both and do shout when you're about; I'll come and say hi (if you don't mind)!
Just packing for our first nights campering this year; going to Coverack on the Lizard.
Vladimir (and anyone else with local knowledge!) - considering bringing our bikes, as we have friends staying in Rock at the same time we're down, and are planning a few trips out which may or may not involve alcohol.
Are the roads generally ok for cycling? Youngest is only 6 but is quite proficient on his bike, and there are four more of us to guard front and rear - reckon it's ok?
Sorry to ask what may sound daft questions but I don't know the area!
Thanks
