Hi All,

I am looking into purchasing a Motorhome in the coming months, and apart from all the obvious avenues of searching for one, I wondered if anyone may have a good recommendation for a dealership or indeed anywhere else you find these things! Word of mouth 'un all.

I am Midlands based, (just south of Birmingham) but happy to travel if anyone has a gem.

Thanks

(Double post?? Just posted this in the Midlands forum but figured it might be better here - mods?)

I have bought both my vans from Cotswold Motor Caravans, they are based just next to Gloucestershire Airport. Very good service, a friendly bunch, and good prices. I bought my first van, an Autosleeper Trident on a VW T4 base, from them in 1998, paying 18k. I traded it in for my second van in 2007, and they gave me 10k for it, much better than other offers I had.

I bought one if Hayes liesure in Wednesbury, no complaints regarding the sale and found the people there more friendly and helpful than other dealers I had approached.
I part exed a motorhome with them and felt I got a fair deal.

Agree with all the above, with the possible exception of Glossop tho I value my front teeth enough not to expand on that!

If its premium German stuff that floats your boat my friend Frank at Travelworld nr Telford is worth a visit.

Rob above is a good chap and coming from a car background im sure his place will offer a level of professionalism you may not run into elsewhere in the backwards world of the leisure industry!

In addition to above, keep an eye on the website in my profile,if theres owt you fancy give me a buzz.
If its used you're after theres a derth of stock about in the industry at the mo so we and everyone else seem to be low on stock but we could be persuaded to let one go if you ask nicely!

Why not visit the show at the NEC in Feb, like cars may work out cheaper to buy new than used, depending on your budget of course.

OP - my parents bought a new Hobby from a place not far from you (I forget the name!) - it was the A5 junction on the M6, turn left and a couple of miles up the way, next to a Dobbies garden centre.

Big stock and nice people.
