Second Hand Starter Motorhome any recommendations?
Discussion
Considering buying a second hand motorhome for a bit if fun with my young family. You see 4 berth coach builds for £6,000/£8,000. Are these with bothering with and which is the best make of motorhome that stands the test of time? Should I spend a little more to get less trouble?
Also, resale time I would like to get most of my money back, if this is realistic?
Cheers

Buy right and depreciation shouldnt be an issue.
That budget should snare you something on the 95 onwards cab which is much better than the older Talbot.
Bar synchro on the gearbox theyre very solid.
Checking for damp is the main thing at that age, very important.
If you can find one of the Autosleeper Monocoque vans ie a Talisman they were beautifully made and no seams so damp free generally, maybe a bit small inside tho.
Id go for Compass Drifter 360 or Swift Royale 590 if you can find a tidy/dry one.

Have just bought my first motorhome. If you buy right, you should end up with a good vehicle which providing its looked after will return a good proportion of its original price come resale time.
I'd recommend looking up a local dealer and having a prowl about to see what layouts you like.

A lot of the big dealers will trade out of that price bracket of van so its always worth asking someone like Hayes leisure who they trade to.
I used to trade to a nice guy called Keith Burke, google Redditch motorhome dealers n his sites the top one, nothing in budget atthe mo.
We trade our pxs to Carl at www.motorlands.co.uk always loads of vans in all brackets but a trek from you.
