Possibly the strangest post I've made on PH to date, but here goes.

Does anyone have any recomendations for good fleece blankets for keeping warm at night? Camping at Spa at the end of the month and night time temps will be pretty low. Looking for something to put under and over my sleeping bag for added warm/insulation.

Cheers smile

Depending on what space you have available, I have used a normal bed duvet under and over a sleeping bag.
I would also put in a wolly bob hat to wear aswell.

Me and the wife are going in my MX5 so space for a full duvet is limited but certainly an option. I was leaning towards a couple of fleeces as they fold up quite small.

Foil blankets really help, and take up almost no space. You've not said what you are sleeping in, if it's a tent I'd make sure you are off the ground, a thermarest or similar makes a huge difference. It's also worth remembering that wrapping yourself up too tightly will reduce the efficiency of things like duvets and sleeping bags that rely on trapping air to keep you warm.

try army surplus for a e RAF wool blanket - ours are wide enough to go over the pair of us and very warm

Down compresses down very small, might be worth having a look at a down filled duvet and stick it in a compression sack, I go camping in an mx5 and its a nightmare getting everything in at times.

Being glampers, the missus has just bought a lovely pure wool Nicky Thompson blanket mainly for camper duties; testing it next weekend!

Most petrol stations have the fleece throws, they work just as well as the expensive ones, if you don't mind having 'paws a' on them.

I bought a 'peach skin' fleece sleeping bag, for winter fishing for carp, its very warm, too warm possibly, and feels lovely on bare skin..ooh matron..
Also I bought the other half all in one suits made out of fleece, these are very nice and fun too
