Yes it does. Reverse polarity won't charge your battery. Also, I am old by trained sparkys, leaves equipment live when switched off.Some anal campers twitter on about reverse polarity but again,it doesn't matter.
If it doesn't matter, why do modern caravans have a warning light? Never encountered it in the UK, but very many French and Spanish leccy points are reversed.

Shouldn't make a difference to charging though as the 240v supply only feeds a 240/12v transformer in the charger and it is the 12v side that is rectified to positive and negative surely.
