Securing a motorhome awning

I have a Burstner motorhome with an Outdoor Revolution Movelite XL driveaway awning.

The awning is basically a tent with a canopy which is pulled over the motorhome and secured with straps over the top of the motorhome. Details can be found here; http://www.outdoor-revolution.com/driveaway-awning...

When the awning is up, the straps securing the awning flap in the wind, and knock against the motorhome, making it very noisy inside. There is a driveaway kit available;



The driveaway kit requires an awning channel which is not part of the kit. When I asked Outdoor Revolution for advice, they suggested using a Fiamm awning (!) and couldn't help with the channel.

Does anyone have any experience or ideas where I could get a awning channel for the driveaway kit?

Best off finding a local friendly motorhome (accessories) dealer and ask them for an awning rail (C-Rail - i.e. looks like a C shape you can slide the beading into) - or if fitted just use the rail on the front of the fiamma/omnistor awning?

Not that pricey - just needs securing in an appropriate manner to the motorhome wall.

If its a panel van conversion you could get a magnetic kit?

C Rail is the stuff.

It needs fitting by a professional really as it should be screwed into the van, should be a couple of hours labour and circa £8.00 per metre for the rail.

Fitted this Kyham sun shade, using a "C" rail bought from local caravan dealer £10 fixed in the gutter using Silcoflex metal to metal adhesive £14 . Have also used with drive away awning but the sun shade is brilliant , three poles and three pegs , job done .

I bought 5m of awning rail from Jacksons of Old Arley last week (http://www.jacksonscamping.com/) I'm using it to attach a draft skirt below the van, and I'm making a strip to go from the van to the gazebo I'm using as an awning.
The awning rail I bought was aluminium, and I've screwed it into the frame with a smear of silkoflex to provide additional adhesion and seal the screw holes from the elements. It's gone on very easily, and you wouldn't notice it was there if you weren't looking for it.
