We used our sons awning last weekend which was great if you are staying on a site for a few days but takes a while to put up. Had a Kyham sun canopy delivered today which is just the ticket, three poles and pegs up in five minutes very pleased with it.

The Australians seem to prefer this type of shelter over a full awning (from what I've seen on YouTube) on their off-road caravans. Maybe it's because they tend to keep moving through the outback rather than settling in one place, but I admit that I'd rather have one of these than a full awning too. The whole point of caravaning over camping (for me) is the quick set-up and break-down. And not having a lot of fabric to dry out at home when you inevitably end up packing away in the rain makes the slight inconvenience of NOT having a full awning worthwhile.

I agree, ours is hanging over the line now drying out after a trip to Runswick Bay ! With a windbreak it's nearly as good as a full awning .
