Went camping recently and a friend brought along this:

http://www.towler-staines.co.uk/shop/288-beauclair...

With the griddle it was excellent for cooking meat on - easily managed food for 6 people, cooked quickly and even simple things like chargrilled chicken tasted great. In short, I want one. I've got a two ring hob for slower cooking stuff, this is just to quickly cook things like meat.

It's selling for £135 so I wondered if it was the best at what it does or if there is anything else at that price point (or cheaper) that I should look at?

The Cadac carry chef is worth a look at for comparison. Good piece of kit and pretty easy to keep clean and store.

Cadacs are loved by their owners. I recently purchased the Cadac Safari Chef which is smaller than the Carri Chef so it packs up into a its neat carry bag, but it can still fry up a great breakfast...
