Hi,

We we are new to camping and are thinking about getting a Motorhome.

We have two kids, so would need a 4 berth.... Looking to pay around 20k would we be able to get one for around that figure.

We also don't want a massive one. I like the look of the Vw T2 but I'm assuming they are only two berth.

Anyone recommend one and a company in Berkshire that sells them so that we can have a look at some

Thanks

- Pete

I have thought about a motor home but, apart from the fact that I can't afford one biggrin, what really put me off was having to pack everything up if you want to go anywhere beyond walking distance. I think this is particularly the case having children, you can't just nip down the nearest 24hrs supermarket to get that vital thing you forgot!

We had a 5 berth for a few years with 2 kids, we had a lot of good times & all miss it. Sadly money is tighter now so can't have another at the moment frown

Look at lots of layouts & see what works best for you, we'd have bunk beds if we had another one.

We had friends with one at the same time we had ours. Ours was approx. 21ft long, theirs had to be bigger rolleyes and was approx. 24ft long. Because of the different internal layouts, ours actually felt more spacious & was much easier to thread down the typical narrow country roads to many campsites.

We chose sites carefully making sure we could walk or catch a bus into the nearest Town or Village, this meant we never had the hassle of packing everything up to move the van. It also meant we could both have a drink without fighting over who was going to drive!

O.p its Webbs in Reading, theyre a good bunch and reasonably priced for a southern dealer.
You've got a Marquis Branch in Newbury, also a good bunch but maybe a tad pricey on the used stuff but if youre just looking it doesnt matter.
Get the size and layout right, everything else is secondary and remember the seatbelt situation, many 4 berths dont have 4 belts.
