Morning all,
Has anyone got a good link to a cheat sheet comparing camper vans?
Looking to spend around £20k but that opens a world of options (don't mind older vans).
Hymer seems to top the list on quality. No sure if the chassis makes a huge difference. Surprise how popular Fiat vans are.
Any helpful links apprecated. Club websites are a bit rubbish!

Your right 20k gives you a huge number of options.
Size and layout are key so go and look at as many as possible, visit all your local dealers at length and go to one of the big outdoor shows if theres one coming up.
Get some mags too, practical motorhome that i think Garlick does the odd bit for,MMM and Which.
Fiat/Peugeot dominate and as a motorhome chassis their 02-06 cab that your budget buys is pretty faultless.
As your in Ireland if your after a bigger van which would be cheaper to import are vans cheaper in the uk? I knoe they were a few years ago.

As you mention the LEZ and that you will look at older vans then you probably already know the current rules but, if not, then check the TFL link below.http://www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/lez/17700.aspx
Oh, and that the vehicle you choose really does have the capability to tow an, albeit light, car.
Quite a lot of motorhomes will be overweight if the wife is plump and packs too many handbags
I'm sure Garlick will be along shortly as he will have all the gen.
Internal payload can be tight on some vans but most should tow 1500kg with new 07 on cab stuff doing 2000kg+ but these with a decent conversion might be out of budget.
What are you after a van conversion or a coachbuilt(caravan bodystyle on a chassis cab)?
I think its euro2 on for the lez yes? So thats the common rail jtd/hdi engines which popped up in 01 on fiat and 02 on peugeot.
Or buy a big ol petrol yank and use the savings on fuel!
