Recommend me a tent please....
Discussion
Hi guys, me and the mrs want to get into camping this year, got a few bits and bobs and an old pop up tent but were after something nicer.
Got upto £200 so we've been looking at the vango icarus/Tigris as they look to be good value. We're after something with abit of space and head height for chilling when the rain comes, a sewn in groundsheet and sturdy for the crap summers.
Willing to buy used if in good condition too.
What do you guys recommend and why?

Take a look at: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/
They have a very good range and helpful hints, plus they are good value.

Gelert Horizon 6. Tunnel tent with a 3 man sleeping compartment either end with a central living area. Tall enough to stand up in, and we only put on of the sleeping areas in (they hang from the outer) so we've got a 4.6 metre long / 2.4 metre wide communal area. In real terms, that's big enough for a kitchen area (with enough gear and food to feed 5), central dining/chilling area with a table that 5 can eat from. And 3 guitars.
Plenty of room in a nutshell.
Sewn in groundsheet which has survived being pitched in a bog and some torrential downpours whilst everything inside stayed dry. I highly recommend it.
Ignore the first colour that comes up - the other colour tent is £168.

I've had the father and grandfather of this tent - both been fantastic, and my favorite tent for camping as a couple. Big enough for a double air bed + bags, but small and light when packed. OK to put up on your own, v easy with 2, and stable in a decent wind Just to update this for everyone, we decided on the icarus 500, managed to get the 2013 model from go outdoors for £170, and a carpet for £49 so happy with that all. Need to find a nice little campsite for a couple of days now, looking around a 2hr radius of Swindon if anyone knows of anything.
Thanks for all your input guys.

We have the Icarus 800 with a canopy and it is huge. Easy to put up and take down. Thanks for all your input guys.

Remember to try putting it up and take it down before you go away. Will reduce the arguements at the campsite. Lots of videos on Youtube. Also a kitchen unit or extra table is useful so you are not cooking on the ground.
