Can anyone recommend a Motorhome which has four belted seats and four berths that can be left made up (so thinking double over cab and double over garage or bunk beds at the back and lowered roof bed or any combination)?

There seem to be plenty out there and not a lot to choose between them, so was looking for a bit of recommendation . . .

(also thinking of a trip down to Brownhills, nr Newark as they seem to have loads of stock of different models - any good?)

I think what you are doing, that is going to a well stocked dealer and having a good mooch around is the best way for you to make your mind up.
There are so many variables to consider, and only you know what you might want to achieve with it.
As for Brownhills, our kid bought one from them earlier this year and he had no problems.
It might be worth you going to one if the many shows to have a look, if you can catch one.

As jon said really, look at as many as possible then when youve settled on the model whack on the internet to find the best prices.
If new or nearly new that Chausson Flash with end bunks and a drop down front bed is pretty funky for the price, cant remember the model number.

My Niesmann had that layout, just better build quality.

OP, depends what you want to use it for. Many manufacturers build that layout in both Coachbuilt and A Class.

For example, if you want to use it all year round or take it Skiing, you will need very good insulation, which means European and probably German

We took our Laika to Austria skiing and it didn't do as well as the N+B did in terms of fighting the -24 overnight temp.

We've just bought an Adria 660 and are very happy with it. Winterised, double over garage at the back and double in the over cab. Got 6 seatbelts too.

We sell Adrias theyre very well built and decent value.
The 660 sport is a good shout or go slightly older with the van that preceeded it the Coral 660 as if you only need 4 belts it has 5 and includes the cab seats as part of the lounge.

German Frankia (makers of Pilote) have the A Class 650i ED in Holiday Class using Merc Sprinter 313 CDi.

The 650i ED as 4-belts, double bunks at rear and full drop down front bed. Some have an additional mod that makes seating area into another double.

Model made from 2000-ish to a few years ago?

Quality furnishings, fully insulated and sound Merc running gear.

We've decided to have a run out to Brownhills tomorrow for a good look at what is available. Been round all the local dealers (surprised at how many there are in the NE!) and seen some promising models, but might aswell see what else is out there. Ideally we would like something that can be used all year round and I'm siding with a European model, but would like an oven too, but more often than not the two don't mix!

True - Adria do a "UK pack" that includes the oven.

If its a bunkbedded A-class you settle on make sure its very keenly priced, while they are a good soloution for some and perfect for family skiing trips they are a niche within a niche and not loved by the trade, oddly the same can be said for most high end bunkbed models, budget ones are easy to shift but quality/expensive bunkbed vans just stick.

Brownhills tomorrow now, but in the meanwhile we had a good look at an Adria Matrix M680SP, automatic (with manual override) and with the 160bhp motor. It's got 9k miles and is a '60' plate. It has the fixed bed at the rear and double bed from the roof over the living area. It's £45k and very nice . . .

Also today we looked at new 'Carada' vans (German I believe) and were quite taken with one of their models, but I believe they are a 'budget' brand and for the same price as a new, we could get the 'better' used above . . .

Super bits of kit those, well built, finished and good for winter although I think the Matrix missed out on the heated waste tank that other Adrias have.
Cant help feeling thats just a tickle expensive for a van that'll be 3 years old later this year, a new one starts at £54990 but would be pushing £60000 with the heavier chassis,3ltr and auto options ticked.
The 3.0 is a marvellous lump but a bit thirsty compared to the 2.3 in that side of van and the Auto is a robotised manual thats a bit ponderous in lower gears.
The heavier chassis that I think you had to have with the 3.0 gives you loads of payload but not everyone can drive it and it can push prices up on toll roads, bridges, some ferries etc

Of course, as there is a woman involved with this purchase, even with a 250 mile round trip we had to come home via our local RV and caravan place (Catterick Bridge). Whilst there she quite likes the Roller Team 700 Family. It's low line van, with fixed double at the back and drop down double over the lounge. Proper garage and proper (small) oven. Brand new it's about £43k . . . comes with reversing camera (bike rack, which we won't need with the garage), solar panel etc etc., but I'd also like a towbar putting on. This is on a 130bhp Fiat chassis.

Would this have any problem towing a lightweight car (2CV) ?

Thats a very clever layout, quite smart looking inside too especially if it has the leather.
If its plated at 3500kg then towing capacity sould be about 2000kg or 3 2cvs!
Was pricing up a rollerteam in px earlier coincidentally and noticed a 12plate one of these on autotrader at £32995,ex rental with 12000 miles but if its not battered its a cheap van.

Won't an ex-rental van have been hammered to Nice and back though especially 12k in a year ?

Quite possibly, weve had some minty ex rentals and knocked back some shockers.
As the budget stretches the new one makes sense,Rollerteams arent the most robust vans but brand new and with the 10 year damp warranty theres minimal risk.
