First T5 Camper
Discussion
Hi this our first venture into VW campers, had some great holidays in France with a tent and not so great in a coach built camper, to big to park in the towns and villages to small to live in for six weeks. So we think the T5 camper with a awning will fit the bill.

Cheers for the comments, it was done by Kustom Sport Ltd Carlton Barnsley who's main business is making custom carpets for the motor home & caravan industry , if you have a carpet in your van they more than likely made it. They only convert a few vans a year as its their winter way of keeping the labour force busy. This van was done by one of the directors who is a camper, it's been a labour of love , I doubt he has counted the hours put into this conversion !
Lovely looking van. Here's a pic of my old one :
We found it a bit small for camping, so I replaced it with this :
Not as pretty, but suits us much better. I do find myself hankering after a nice car again sometimes, but the kids would never forgive me if I got rid of "Daddy's Big White Bus"!
T4 Forum is a very good source of info. Enjoy!

Here goes.....
Documented elswhere, but I chopped in my Aston Martin Vantage and with the proceeds bought a T5 camper. Covered just shy of 2000 miles already. Haven't given the Aston a second thought - I love my bus.
This is after I took her/him (haven't decided yet) for a professional valet and clay.....
And from the rear....
Matching interior. Given our lifestyle we opted for the hard floor, but the interior needed some funk so was done out in red/black leather.....
The rock and roll bed works a treat and is pretty comfortable. As they say, "if the vans' a rocking, don't come knocking
The camper format is the usual 2 up, 2 down... the roof pops up - giving us a good night and day use as there is plenty of storage up top.....
Our first night out we braved force 8 gales on the Dorset Coast. We've been to South Wales, cooked freshly cooked asparagus by the side of the road in the Vale of Evesham and will be heading to the Forest of Dean this weekend, before spending the Bank Holiday with friends on the coast in Hampshire. I've always had a hankering for VW camper and should have bought one a lot sooner.
It's had some chrome and bars fitted, but the most obvious upgrades are the Audi LED DRL lights (which look great). Lowering is not really an option as we feel it would limit the utility aspect of why we bought it in the first place. I do have plans to replace the front bumper with something a little more purposeful looking, whilst the 'standard' rear spoiler will go when someone comes up with the kit to cover the split doors.
Hope you like it!
ETA - I will be heading to Le Mans this year in the bus, so if you see me on route give me a wave
