hi to all, I'm starting a new business (well, more of a hobby really).

Since i sold my track car it's given me more time to go to events (BTCC etc). I was planning on going to Le Mans and camp - and that got me wondering if there would be any demand for the rental of tents for sporting events like that, as well as things like festivals etc.

I'm not computer literate so it's taken me a few days to grapple with the software to build a website.

Anyway, i've come up with this: http://www.ding-dong-belltenthire.co.uk

And i'd really appreciate thoughts or opinions on the idea as well as the website. It needs some tweaking here and there, but i think it's more or less there.

Thanks very much
Nick

Hi Nick

My first thought was that its a cool idea. Then I looked at your prices - given that a good quality bell tent is about £350 your hire rates looks bit steep. And in my experience the tent itself is only the start - to do the party, sleepover, the camp or the glamp, folk need a gazillion other things from sleeping bags to cushions and throws which you need to be offering in affordable packages.

Most people don't believe how easy a bell tent is to erect so you'll need to reassure them on that, and you need to think about dirt, damage and damp/mould, all of which can really impact the hire cost - and your margins!

Go and look at Soulpad - they sell and hire beautiful bell tents and their website gives a good idea of what you can do....st a price!

You should also consider doing a tie in with selected campsites - ie "come to our campsite and we'll have Everything set up and waiting for you" deals for first timers and London weekenders...

And good luck - I think you'll need it!
