So, it seems I've become the owner of a caravan. Unintentionally, but it's happened.

I don't want the thing. I won't use the thing.

Where's the best way to get rid of it?

It's a 2 berth thingy (I think)! Worth probably £1,500.

Any ideas?

If its only a cheap one then just bung in it the free papers, local paper and post office window etc..

Details? It may be worth more than you think.

Ideal time to sell as well if the weather ever improves.

I own a large dealership that for 30 years has sold these 'gypsy houses' as you rather patronisingly call them. I also consult for Glasses Guide on the values of your gypsy house.

I would have given you the benefit of my knowledge as a fellow PH'er but:

1. 99% of caravan owners are NOT gypsy's and I find your stereotyping for laughs a little cheap.
2. If a genuine gypsy heard what you are saying they would rip your head off.
3. The 'gypsy house' industry you refer to has served me very kindly allowing me to own cars most people dream of owning and I take offence at you cheap swipes at others who enjoy the pastime.

So best go and try a flog your 'thingy gypsy house' and hopefully someone will steal it from your coz you had no idea what you were talking about!!nononono

Eek,bit tetchy eh?

O.p not all of us in the gypsy house industry are quite so defensive.

Look for badges on the van that state what make and model it is and maybe a plate with the year on it, post it on here and i'll look it up in the guide for you but if its an older van why not just 1p start on ebay and let it roll!

Think you had just stick to servicing your fire extinguishers. Your not a fireman Simon, you never will be, but I guess you enjoy pretending to be.
I'm tired of your drivel.

Wow, WIJ933 (hope I got that right)!! Time of the month?!

Read up a teeny weeny little bit and you'll see that I was just using a term that was initially used by someone else earlier in the thread. Go on - just have a gander.

It was not a derogatory comment in any way, shape, or form - just trying to make what is a boring subject for me (am I allowed to not have an interest in something you do?) slightly more humorous. It put a smile on my face in a situation that I'd rather not be in.

But, never mind, I'm sure I'll struggle on and manage to get the thing sold at some point without your many years of experience. Oh, and I'm sure you'll laugh at me from your high horse...or should I say cars "that I could only dream of driving"...

To the other chaps who've offered some help, it's much appreciated and I'll PM you shortly. I've got some photos of the thing from when the previous chap bought it. It's not on my land - about half an hour away. I'll try to pop over at the weekend and get some more info from any plates I can see.

Reason I'd rather not list on eBay is because I genuinely have no idea what the thing is (maybe will be able to learn more about it if there's any further info I can gain over the weekend and get an idea), but not knowing much means I'll probably inadvertently misdescribe the thing and waste both the buyers and my time.

Thank you for your kind offers of help.

Cheers

The Moose

Anyway, back to the caravan in question. How much do you want for it? Is it in good condition? What type of caravan is it? If you look on the back on the caravan, you will find a badge that tells you the make.
